The Lost Type Vietnam project, exploring the history and development of typography in Vietnamese graphic design, was sparked by the hashtags #luuchu and #thelosttypevietnam appearing on Instagram. Initially, the project gained traction through photographs of street signs across the country, attracting widespread attention and enthusiastic support from the community. This led to the team meeting, changing the project name to Lưu Chữ, and preparing for new plans. Through their content archiving activities, research sharing, and typography practice, Lưu Chữ hopes to create opportunities for everyone to examine, analyze, and discuss a topic that has not received much attention in the community: how letters have permeated Vietnamese life from ancient times to the present day.
